inProgress -- without just the right light (in this case the flash) the spots are almost invisible.

Re: The Frugel-Horn Project

Nice work.  Couple of questions.  How long do all of those mods take?  How much do the mods lower efficiency?  Is Fs affected?

Re: The Frugel-Horn Project

Depends how effective i am at squeezing the processes together. Right now 2-3 weeks (includes at least 4 days breakin). That includes EnABL, basket treatment, phase plugs. If one really strung things together, (and ignored break-in time) maybe a week (most of the time waiting for things to dry.

A tiny bit less efficiency, a bit lower Vas. Since i haven't been taking T/S in controlled temp/humidity, the differences fall inside of what just a change in weather can do, but estimated over ~150 FE126/127 about 1/2 a dB and a couple Hz.

Re: The Frugel-Horn Project

Hi Ron,  I have since added some more blocks to reduce the cc/ac volume a touch - seems better to my ears in my lounge room. I have also done some spl measurements but these seem to be a waste of time in the uncontrolled environment of my home. Just move my hand or sit at a different angle and the reflections around the room change the spls a dB or more sometimes.  I will have to rely or listening tests which is fine because thats what we do with speakers anyway.  They sound great. Really tight and crisp.(technical terms for real good).  Deep Bass is a little lacking compared to my big Fe 166 Bibs but that is to be expected from such a small system. I have just started to mod some cheap 4" drivers and will experiment with the EnABL tweeks etc on those first.
