Re: Duelund horn

AFAIK it was designed in early 70s, horn theory and computational power have greatly increased since then and superior designs exist.

I assume you've seen this article on the Duelund:

Re: Duelund horn

Hi

Yes i found it on http://www.muyiovatki.dk/duelund/duelund.htm. And yes, i think it was published in 1974 so it is old. But it should be easy to recalculate the dimensions of the horn with software and use the same layout. The contour of the horn is adjusted/build with plates and concrete.

Using a EXCEL calculator a 24hz horn ( 0.5 exponential )1/4 wave is 3,6meter long and have and mouth opening as both channels of the duelund horn

Any better solutions with same data ?

Best regards Kim

Re: Duelund horn

The Duelundhorn is still great - I have the largest model 60x60x130cm + 100 kgs with concrete innes modified to tak a Tannoy Dual Concentric 12" from a DC 4000 speaker - and it is absolutely great - Duelund was a genius with sound - he did not need a computerprogramme to build a great speaker - before I mod'ed them to tannoy I used a coral flat 10 and I have never heard a coral unit sounding better.
