New Toy!! Looks like they did a nice job with the basket. I wonder if high freq. will change?

SB3, Marantz PM7001, Jordan Jx92s , CSS Sd12 (sub)
It looks like a 206 in the more upmarket frame of the 208E-Sigma. In fact it looks a lot like the old 208!
I like the way it looks! It's exactly like the 208S and similar to my beautiful 168S.
Makes me feel like i have a newish looking driver again. LOL.
Would like to see how FR compares to regular 206.
I can't wait to see specs! Should be an interesting driver and I doubt it will let anyone down.
Here is a bigger picture:
This looks like a link page in Japanese with specs and a small graph
The babelfish translation of the specs read
Impedance 8 Ω
Lowest resonance frequency 42Hz
Playback frequency characteristic Fo - 20kHz
Output overpressure value 98dB
Input 100W (Mus)
Execution vibrating radius (a) 8.1cm
Magnetic weight 1.821g
Gross weight 6.4kg
Recommendation enclosure Back load horn type
And at 23,100Yen - which is about $200.00USD.

I have the impression that the "bulge" in the graph between 2500 and 5000 hz would best be tamed with a filter.
Should be close. If the Vas is within spitting distance it should work. Dont know bout the cut out dia.? May have to grease that magnet though.

A few more interesting tidbits from the Japanese website link above:
- first time use of highly rigid zinc die-cast frame instead of aluminum.
- copper/silver hybrid voice coil wire just like w/ the 166ES-R
It's cool that they revived certain aspects of the original FE208Z w/ accordion surround etal. From all of the changes, I hope it's not just a more efficient and detailed 208Z/206ES with better bass response. Even if the response graph says otherwise, here's hoping that it also has better/even tonal balance and finer high frequencies without resorting to irreversible mods like doping the cone ore adding phase plugs *wishful thinking from a purist "no correction fliter" POV?*
